Marisa ASSUNÇAO, PhD student supervised by Prof. Anna Maria BLOCKI, was bestowed with the 1st Place of SYIS and RSC Journal of Materials Chemistry B Poster Award among the 300 poster presentations, at TERMIS European Chapter Meeting 2019 held in Rhodes, Greece from 27 – 31 May 2019.

Over 1400 academics and scholars attended TERMIS EU 2019, Marisa and Prof. Anna Blocki were invited among the 300 speakers to give presentations on their novel research ideas and findings, on the topics “Mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular matrices assembled in the presence of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid exhibit anti-inflammatory properties” and “Towards engineering of bio-instructive materials to guide tissue regeneration processes” respectively.

We sincerely hope that our students will shine and continue to thrive in the promising field of research of biomaterials. Once again, congratulations to Marisa!
