The Monash-CUHK Alliance was established in 2017, focused on developing collaborative high impact programs in medical education and research. The alliance is growing, strengthening and deepening in the fields of stem cell biology & regenerative medicine and cardiovascular. In 2021, we see the research initiatives expanding into diabetes.

Out of the most recent Monash-CUHK Alliance meeting held in June 2021, the committee acknowledges that students and supervisors are working very hard to maintain the research continuity as the COVID-19 situation develops. The committee recognises the progress that has been made and is looking to continue this momentum in 2021. Therein, to support the current 12 joint research projects, the committee proposes a virtual symposium to take place in Tuesday 28 September 2021. This virtual event will provide the opportunity for students and researchers to discuss their scientific outcome, exchange new knowledge, inspire others with new research ideas to create further collaborative research opportunities and new PhD projects.
