Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Founder and Professor of the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM), and 8th Vice-Chancellor and President, has been honoured with the Jensen Tissue Engineering Award – the highest award bestowed by the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS). This award recognizes his groundbreaking work in stem cells, biomaterials, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine, with a particular emphasis on musculoskeletal development and disorders, as well as his exemplary leadership in higher education.

Prof. Tuan received his Award at the TERMIS-AM (Americas) 2025 conference, which took place in Detroit, Michigan, USA from 9 -12 November 2025. As part of the awards ceremony, Prof. Tuan delivered a presentation on 10 November 2025, entitled “Can We Re-create Joints? Exploring The Future of Tissue Engineering”, highlighting his outstanding research achievements.

Prof. Tuan also presented the Jensen Award Lecture during the TERMIS-AP (Asia-Pacific) 2025 conference in Wuhan, China in October.
