We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the seminar by Dr. Daniel Heath, a distinguished Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, on October 13, 2023. Dr. Heath’s seminar on “Advanced Biomaterials: Tissue Engineered Vascular Grafts, Endothelialisation, and Antimicrobial Nanoparticles” provided valuable insights in a concise and engaging session.

Dr. Heath discussed the design, fabrication, and utilization of biomaterials for two critical cardiovascular applications. He highlighted a method for producing tissue engineered vascular grafts with optimal mechanical properties and alignment of cells, resembling native blood vessels. Additionally, he explored polymeric materials that enhance endothelialisation by improving cell-material interactions and mechanotransduction.

Furthermore, Dr. Heath touched upon novel selenium-based nanomaterials with antimicrobial properties to combat drug-resistant bacteria.

We extend our gratitude to Dr. Daniel Heath for sharing his expertise and delivering an informative seminar. The event attracted a diverse audience, including students, researchers, and staff members, who actively participated in the session.

Stay tuned for more upcoming events as we continue to foster collaboration and innovation within our Institute.
