Subsequent to the last visit paid by the delegation from our University in mid-Feb 2017, representatives from Monash University paid us a return visit on 5 Sep 2017, for further exploration of future collaboration for the 2 institutions in academic and industrial scopes and areas.

Prof. Claude BERNARD, Head, Multiple Sclerosis Research Group, Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI), Mr. Silvio TIZIANI, Director, External Strategy and Planning, ARMI, Ms. Jasmine Lu, Senior Business Development Manager, Victorian Government Business Office together with the representatives from Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) were welcomed byProf. Wai-yee CHAN, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) cum Executive Director of the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM); Prof. Kenneth K.H. LEE, Associate Director of the MOE Key Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine (CUHK – Jinan University); Prof. Tin-lap LEE, Deputy Chief of Developmental and Regenerative Biology Program of SBS, and the other 7 faculty members from SBS and iTERM.

In addition to the meeting with our fellow members on the management and operation of iTERM and SBS, the delegation was invited to tour the Core Laboratory of the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building, including Imaging and Microscopy Core, Bio-Fabrication Core, Flow Cytometry Core, etc., during which they learnt about our major themes of research and daily practice of the Institute.

We envision that, with constant and frequent exchange on research and management, a closer relationship and linkage would be built between Monash University and the CUHK, which can definitely lay down a solid foundation for future strategic collaborations.
